An Exquisite Blend of Warm Hospitality and Authenticity at Kamesei Ryokan. As a Muslim, I was delighted by their efforts to help us find halal options nearby. This showcased their dedication to accommodating diverse needs. Even my non-Muslim friend couldn't stop raving about the fantastic authentic dinner and breakfast offerings. The culinary experience at Kamesei Ryokan transcends expectations. Tyler San & his wife went above and beyond to assist us during our stay. When we needed to locate a pharmacy, he not only guided us but accompanied us to ensure effective communication, showcasing a level of care that is truly exceptional. For those seeking an authentic Japanese experience in Nagano, Kamesei Ryokan is undoubtedly the place to go. The blend of exceptional hospitality, culinary delights, and serene Onsen's creates an unforgettable retreat that exceeds expectations. Our gratitude to Tyler San & his wife for making our stay truly memorable.

Great place to stay. It's a ryokan. There's an onsen here. The hosts are very nice and speak English. They also offered to pick you up at the nearest station.

Our stay at Kamesei Ryokan encountered an unexpected challenge due to a booking discrepancy with our travel agent. Despite our clear request for a room with a full bathroom and a private Onsen, we were surprised to find ourselves in an upstairs room without hot water upon arrival. This twist significantly affected our experience, especially for my granddaughter, who couldn't comfortably access bathing facilities. Despite this setback, it's important to highlight the Ryokan's charming ambiance and the gracious, accommodating hosts. The issue appears to be an oversight by our travel agent, who unfortunately placed us in a room more suited for backpackers rather than a family seeking a luxury ryokan experience with comprehensive amenities. While such oversights can happen, it noticeably impacted our stay. Nevertheless, Kamesei Ryokan's overall ambiance and service were commendable, showcasing its charm despite the hiccup.

We stayed at Kamesei Ryokan for two nights on our visit to Japan. Our stay there was, hands down, the best experience of our trip. We had a room with private onsen, and it was so relaxing to partake of. Actually, the entire feel of the Ryokan was one of relaxation and welcoming. I used the shared onsen options as well and was impressed by their design. There is a lot of thoughtfulness that has gone into the onsen and they are a treat to enjoy. We enjoyed the dinners each night and they went out of their way to accommodate our allergy limitations. The food was delicious and I tried dishes I probably would never have attempted. 100% worth. Tyler made sure that our stay was memorable and was a great host. All of the staff were brilliant. We were made to feel at home and pampered. The staff were attentive to our needs, offered wonderful suggestions, and simply made sure we were cared for. If the opportunity is there to spend a night or longer at Kamesei Ryokan, then you will not regret the experience. I feel like I could write a million things that I enjoyed or was impressed by.

This place was beautifully maintained and wonderfully managed. The husband and wife duo that run this ryokan know exactly how to make you feel right at home. The food was amazing, and the bathhouses switch genders after 9 pm to allow everyone equal access to all of the baths. We opted for a room that had access to a private bath after 9 pm and it was blissfully peaceful. The owners were even kind enough to drop us off at the train station after check out! The surrounding town is also lovely and quiet with lots of public foot baths to avail yourself of. Save some time to look around at the town and definitely pick up some of their local and incredibly delicious apples.
