::A very nice and classic 5 stars hotel in Hakuba. The rooms are spacious and well decorated but a bit old. The price is too high in holiday and festive period. Good to stay during low season.

::We loved this hotel. The staff are awesome - picked us up/dropped us off at the Station, took us to two mountain lifts. Even helped us find a chemist as my husband was unwell on the train from Tokyo. A shout out to the new Vietnamese lady on Reception for her amazing patience and endless help. We only stayed for one night but I wished it was longer. The hotel is snug in a forest of pine trees, with fresh mountain air, the tinkle of birds and insects constant. There are pots of flowers everywhere and charming spots to sit and admire the beauty of nature. Inside, the hotel is a throw back to the days of piano, silver service and large sofas. The rooms, though, in contrast are slightly more modern and individually different. Beds divine, toilets snazzy as per all of Japan, and balcony views of the forest beautiful. Complimented by the super helpful staff... we hope to return in different seasons.

::The level of hospitality received was outstanding. We have travelled all over the world and never have felt so welcomed and cared for. Little things like having our shoes ready when we were picked up after a days skiing, to the wonderful staff in the Brasserie and Restaurants all made our stay extra special. We will definitely stay again.

::What an unbelievable experience. From arrival to (sadly) departure, they could not do enough for us. Service was off the charts brilliant! Having our ski equipment taken care of - from boots being laid out to staff handling skis etc, made it super convenient. Hotel is gorgeous! Quaint and delightful. Rooms amazing and warm. We will return here again and again.

::This is not a 5 star hotel. Don’t expect a spa here. It’s in room massage from offsite masseur - no onsen pools or dedicated spa room. Rooms upstairs in main building spacious, warm and comfortable but Hotel Lobby is so cold you will want to hide in your room - but rooms in other buildings are freezing too. Small heaters are offered but don’t help much especially on ground floor Rooms. Lobby fire is not kept up and used too sparingly for heat. Have to reserve onsite French restaurant 1 day ahead but nobody goes because it’s 55-60 F degrees in there and they only offer blankets when you complain. Same room used for breakfast but still cold. Not a ski in location because posted signs say illegal to cross street on skis and it’s 400 meters and across road from nearest lifts. Staff is courteous and will give a ride to lifts. Manager is very professional and helpful on local reservations and tours. Mostly foreign travelers book here because locals know better. Overpriced for what it is.
