  The staff here is super helpful and open-minded. They helped carry our luggage to our rooms, which was very sweet. The rooms are also very comfortable and the location is conveniently close to nara station and park.

  I stayed here for a night in April 2017 on honeymoon trip to Japan. I adored this hotel. Great location and atmosphere, great price, amazing buffet breakfast, wonderfully kind and hospitable staff. Clean, unique, and wonderful rooms! Staff left a handwritten/drawn card and is one of my favorite souvenir. The rooms were so unique and comfy - they combined traditional Western-style with Japanese style beds so they are raised and you have a mattress, but not a box spring. Comfortable and lots of space. Breakfast is a must - just a lovely, affordable hotel and is my favorite of the trip. I thought this hotel was so clean! Would love to come back and stay here!

  Walking distance to Nara Park (15mins walk). Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. However I'm not sure if the decor is traditional Japanese or just needs an update renovation

  Hotel had the standard friendly staff. The rooms are nice and spacious. The included dinner and breakfast were a nice plus, but the rooms had furniture and carpets with multiple stains—definitely shows its age.

  The hotel is a short walk away from Nara Station. Its lobby is quite charming with a gift shop, a tea room, lounge and bar. The staff was very welcoming. I would give it four stars, but the state hotel room was not very good. I had two twin beds in my spacious room (on the third floor) along with a loveseat, chair and desk. The shower curtacurtainvery moldy and the tub/shower had a lot of build up. The maintenance of the room is not up to par. The carpeting was stained, the furniture had visible spill stains. It didn't feel clean. The best part of my one night stay was the private bath. For five hundred and forty yen, I took a 40 minute private bath in a large hinoki wood tub. Some of the tiling on the walls near the entrance needed maintenance, but other than that, it felt like a lovely spa experience. I am five feet, two inches, and I could lay on my back and float in the giant tub. It was amazing. The day after my stay, I left my luggage with the hotel for several hours and came back to work on some writing and have a cold drink. There was no wifi in the bar area, and the price for something like coffee or tea was very expensive-- as much the bath. I paid for a tea, which was a really small glasd and was left relatively alone for a few hours at my laptop. It was a very peaceful and cutely decorated lounge. I got much more done than I would have at a Starbucks. What would otherwise have been a one or two star stay was made three with great customer service, great lobby and a private bath experience.
