::This is now one of my favorite hostels! Spacious restroom (with AC on too) and delicious breakfast (included with your room fee)! Wonderful location as well! Staff are very friendly and helpful!

::Wow.. this has been my best stay in Japan! Absolutely 💕’d my 2 nights @Cuore Kurashiki. It evokes the feel of a European style ‘pensione’ stay, including a small, cafe / bar where meals can be taken — including healthy set-menu breakfast. I also enjoyed dinner and drinks one night. Delicious. To be clear, I reserved a single room - not the dorm - w/a comfortable bed and en-suite shower & toilet. Simple, yet stylishly decorated. The location is incomparable for access to the old quarter and the railway station just a brisk 12 minute walk. Others have opinions. As for mine: I’ve stayed in all measure of properties during my week in Japan, including two hostels. Cuore Kurashiki by far my top rated stay thus far .. for value, convenience, comfort and charming style. Finally, I found the staff very welcoming, trying their best to communicate - both listening and speaking - w English language guests. Highly recommend!

::Unfortunately this has been one of the worst stays during my one year travel. The appearance is ok - and it’s great to get fluffy towels as well as care products. Also the area at the channel is great! I can highly recommend a stay in historic Kurashiki. Unfortunately I barely got any sleep at night. The mattress is basically none existing (just a topper on wood) and the pillow is huge/high and super hard :/ I also had bad luck with the people in my room. One was making calls, phones weren’t in silent mode and in general nobody showed respect towards their room mates… please use the common area and do not bother ppl at night!!! never experienced it like that. Since there is a restaurant in the basement voices can be heard, which wasn’t too bad. Staff was ok but not superb friendly. No „konichiwa“ or „hello“… just „checking in?“

::Rooms were a little cold at the time I stayed, but heater worked great. All the staff were patient and clearly enjoyed working there.

::The bathroom is heavily contaminated with black mold as well as the AC head. The cleaning is really under the national average. It is very neglected. No elevator. Helpful staff. The restaurant is good. Comfy lounge.
