::After finishing my errands in front of Tokushima Station, I searched for a late lunch target. This restaurant, which has a nice atmosphere and is open throughout the day, is a hit. It seemed to be a popular restaurant with a good location, but when I visited around 4pm, it was pretty empty. "Specialty raw soba/680 yen" "Shrimp tempura/400 yen" There are two bowls of raw soba and two sake bottles for the soup. One is dashi soup and the other is soba-yu? There was no specific explanation, but when I smelled the large sake bottle, it tasted like dashi soup, so I poured it on the soba noodles. The soba noodles are quite thin and not very chewy, but the elegant soup stock brings out a delicious and simple taste. The shrimp tempura has a thin, crunchy coating that I don't normally like, but it gives it a unique crunchy texture that makes it delicious. One fish is worth 400 yen. The bowl of raw soba noodles was very filling, so it was a great late lunch. The historic store is stylish and nice. There are no counter seats, but there are more than 10 tables, so it's probably full at lunchtime.
kanfu mayama (まやまかんふう)
::2024/05/25 I came to the store around 5pm on a Saturday. There were 3 customers. I ordered my favorite raw soba and a side dish of maruten. Unlike kakiage, maruten is a dish where you can enjoy the texture of the shrimp, and it was the perfect accompaniment to alcohol. This time, we also had Japanese sake. The combination of Maruten and raw soba was the best. I had a relaxing time in the quiet store. *Past articles This is a long-established soba restaurant located about 5 minutes walk from Awa Odori Kaikan. It was empty when I went at 11 o'clock. The inside of the store is kept clean and they also sell soba noodles as souvenirs. We had Tokushima's specialty, raw soba noodles, and bottled beer. For bottled beer, you can choose from Kirin or Asahi. Having a classic lager is a big plus. The raw soba noodles are generously served in a bowl made from Tokushima's traditional Otani ware pottery, and are garnished with grated radish and green onions. Two soba noodles are one serving. The soup stock and soba-yu are also served in Otani-yaki sake bottles. The soup stock is piping hot and is served over soba noodles. Although the noodles are thin, they have a firm texture, and the spicy soup stock is very delicious. When I come to Tokushima, I will stop by again.

::Had the duck with onion soba (鴨なんばん, kamo nanban) on a friend's recommendation, and I loved it. Broth was light and flavorful, soba super tender, duck tender and not too gamey. Nice warm meal on a cold night. The little sliver of lemon rind in there was really interesting too. The soba and a large bottle of Asahi came to 1700円. The person working there was very welcoming and rolled with my broken Japanese, and thanked everyone four or five times as they were leaving.
