  Ramen Tsukemen 52nd store 2024.September Respect for the Aged Day I visited at 12:00 noon and entered the store without waiting. There are no ticket machines. Verbal orders and payments are made when leaving the store. I was able to use my credit card. I ordered ramen. It goes without saying that Hakata ramen has a strong, unique smell of pork bones. When I ordered a spare bowl of ramen, it was brought to me using a tebo (water drainer) and put into the ramen bowl. The menu also said to add umami seasoning when adding extra eggs, so I did. The unique tonkotsu flavor is almost gone, and it becomes soy sauce tonkotsu. I like this one better. Be careful not to add too much or it will become salty. The replacement ball cost 156 yen.

  I heard that this ramen was very pungent and I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I was hoping that even if the smell was very strong maybe it would taste good, but unfortunately the taste wasn't my cup of tea either. The karaage (fried chicken) was incredibly delicious.

  My parents are both from Kyusyu and they love ramen. So whenever I smell Goten's distinctive smell of Tonkotsu, it kind of brings back my childhood memories. For some people they may not favour the smell; just like some people dislike the smell of cheese. Anyway, their simple ramen is something I crave for once in a while. Their fried dumplings are good, too; crispy and juicy which go well with beer.

  Very authentic Hakata tonkotsu ramen. You gotta try it.
