::I went to the market to try the nokkedon (the seafood bowl). It was very delicious. You buy tickets at the counter. You start with a rice serving (1 ticket for the regular and 2 tickets for the large one) and then you go around the shops to exchange tickets for toppings. Toppings like salmon, egg roll, or mackerel are usually equivalent to 1 ticket while scallops, salmon roe and urchins are equivalent to 2. You can also have miso soup for 1 ticket. I'm a big eater so I used 15 tickets but even then it wasn't enough so keep that in mind. Also, prices have increased: the 10 ticket card that used to be 1500 yen is now 2000. And the 5 ticket card is 850 instead of 750 before (which makes two 5 ticket cards cheaper than the 10, but I guess you can't do that. I haven't tried).

::Buy your ticket here for 2000 yen and then chose what you want to eat. We started with a bowl of rice followed with choosing a variety of sashimi and pickles or cooked food. The good thing here is that you can choose how you want to fill your bowl. The stall sellers are very polite.

::A great place to eat and try many kinds of local fish close to Aomori Station. In July 2024 the price was 2000円 for 10 tickets. Then you walk around and exchange your tickets for rice, soup, tamagoyaki or sashimi at the many vendors. If you get rice you can put the fish on the rice, but if you don't get rice you can just put the small dish of sashimi on your tray. There is also a vendor of delicious apple juice for 650円 for a small bottle. Not a cheap meal but so fresh and good!

::Fresh seafood and unique experience. They even have dried seafood products that are hard to find elsewhere in the city. Make sure to drop by the apple juice store (the owner makes his own juice from the variety of apples). He has a variety for people to try, with clear bottles labels with the variety of apples. I would also recommend to try his dried apples. They are sweet with a slight tartness, and right amount of chew. Would also recommend buying some on your trip. Just make sure to go to the right apple juice store...as others weren't as good...or were giving out samples of other producers.

::We had the best meal in Japan here. Highly recommend to purchase a set of 12 tickets for Y2000 and then pick and choose your seafood. There are sooooo many choices, but highly recommend to get from an uncle with a small shop (see final photo), he gave us double portions when he was almost closing his shop for only 1 ticket.
