  Even though there are other customers, employees and familiar customers are so busy chatting loudly that only one counter is open. The fat old lady with glasses sitting at the post counter has a particularly loud voice and is very unfriendly and bossy towards people other than regular customers. It's a post office with old-fashioned employees typical of rural areas.
