  I don’t think this place deserves such bad reviews. Yes, it is more dirty and untidy than normal Japanese standards, but it is still perfectly adequate, it’s an old house with character, and the owners were very hospitable. They came out looking for me in their car when it was getting close to dark and I hadn’t arrived, they accommodated my request for a vegetarian meal (and the food was good), they were friendly and they tried their best to speak English.

  I cannot give any rate lower than one star. No food is provided, this housekeeper said he can offer driving to a convenience store nearby. That’s alright. However, a housekeeper’s own room was a mess, smoking inside his living room. But the cigarette smell went all the way to 2nd floor where guests staying. - Also the bath was so dirty and in black color that I can not stand there over a few minutes. - Half of tubes were broken, - holes in bed sheets - not worth this kind of money - will never come back again How this inn got 4-5 stars, 4-5 years ago? I wonder.. Maybe previous housekeepers were left, or sold out, or passed away. The shower room was so terrible. One good thing was that I come here without reservation. This housekeeper did not raise his prices up, only charges me 6000 yen. I guess that’s the normal price for a bed.

  A nicely rennovated Japanese house with abig room. The offered food was very delicious. I stayed there during the pilgrimage after climbing temple 12.

  A farm stay at a Japanese home with awesome breakfast served. Tatami style beds. They provide transport and free voucher for entry to a local onsen (public bath pool) nearby.

  Food was incredible but the owner was really weird.
