::Yomoshiro was the best part of my holiday in Japan. The owner and his son were lovely and the room was comfortable and cosy. The intimate evening meal where the owner sat and hosted while talking to all of the guests about the local area, where they grew/collected all the food used in the meal, and the local customs and culture was beautiful. He even taught us to play some local music which was great fun. If you want to visit a traditional place and stay in a house hosted by some of the kindest people I have met I would highly recommend staying here.

::Staying at Yomoshiro was a highlight of the trip! Nestled along the beautiful quiet village of Ainokura, the hospitality of Kuni-San (the owner) and his wife was amazing and they fully embodied omotenashi. The home cooked food was delicious. It was a very unique experience staying at a 250 year old gassho hut and a very traditional experience of sleeping on a futon on a tatami. It’s not an everyday experience you get as a traveler in Japan and I highly highly recommend a stay at Yomoshiro if you’re up in Ainokura!

::We arrived in the afternoon. He immediately helped us with our bags, and made us tea. We talked for a while. He understood and spoke some English. He was very kind, informative, patient, and hospitable. The house was beautiful and clean and full of history. The futons were very comfortable. The food was incredible! He was accommodating of my vegetarian diet. The vegetables were very fresh and delicious. I had the best tofu I have had in my year of living in Japan! My boyfriend said the sashimi and grilled fish were also delicious. He and his wife were so kind and lovely. I would highly recommend staying at Yomoshiro house for an amazing one of a kind experience! I will definitely be back with friends or even just on my own. ☺️

::This is the authentic experience you are craving for when going to the Japanese Alps. The best hosts who even drove us to the bus station, amazing local food, great time together with the other guests (50% Japanese fortunately) and a stay in the historical Gassho house. A bit on the pricier side but amazing dinner and breakfast are included in the package. One of the best experiences in Japan, 100% recommended!

::My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. It is a very cosy place hosted by a lovely family. The dinner consisted in several dishes, some of them were actually fished by the host. Although Ainoukura is a small place, staying in this lovely house made it really amazing and enjoyable.
