Enjoy different types of private onsen and public onsen; the 2 meals served by the hotel are awesome too. A great style with the family!

This is another Onsen as part of this trip. The facility looks clean and decent. We choose a room bigger than we normally would. There are alots of space but one minor setback is the space are all divided up so u don’t get the open space where u are entering one room to another. All and all, it’s still a lot of space for 2 and we still like the room very much and particularly loved the outdoor hot spring! Public onsen is beautiful in this facility with nice view. The service staff is not as “friendly” as I expected from other onsen we previously visited (this one is the third one so I have some reference). When we checked in, I felt I was rushed thru it, maybe it’s the language… also the booking of the private onsen was very difficult for second appointment. I tried to make the second one for after 8pm but I was told I need to wait so I gave up and didn’t bother afterward as if I was begging for free service. Other than this setback , the stay was great. Dinner time has the best service from this stay. Then I noticed it’s the same person I see during checkin, dinner time and breakfast time. Maybe that’s why I felt rush during check in because it’s short staff and that poor soul is so busy … Anyway , it’s still a good stay despite the setback in the service

Although the journey driving here was quite long and tiring, I really thought it was worth coming here to stay. The environment and ambience is tranquillizing and relaxed. The Ryokan also covered Omakaze dinnner and traditional breakfast in one price. We also enjoyed the onsen experience and the great hospitality by the hotel staff.

The staff is very nice and helpful. The view and scenery and environment is quiet, beautiful and comfortable. The reception is helpful and the staff are very responsive. Have English introduction and guidelines for everything. The meeting room is super comfy with free coffee, beer and ice lolly. Private onsen requires reservation and easy to book. TV is also showing public bath and private onsen usage condition real-time. The dinner and breakfast are super delectable and fresh. Free shuttle from hotel to Yufuin JR station. Will definitely recommend everyone and will come again.

Amazing first experience of Japanese Ryokan. They are available to pick you up from the Beppu railway station, as the ryokan is on the hills and with luggage you will have a very hard time walking there. Our driver picked us up fast and efficiently, with a very friendly attitude and a smile. Their kaiseki dinner was very well organized and choreographed. The meal selections will vary by season I imagine, what we had included every variety of local Japanese dishes available, and was simply amazing. It will fill you up by the time you get to the dessert. Everything was delicious! Note that if you have grilled beef on the menu, you will have to grill it (Oita beef melts in your mouth) and the smell of the meat will be left on what you are wearing, so just wear your Yukata at the dinner. The onsen. You have two choices: either use public bath, which is segregated by gender (no unisex onsen), or there are two private onsens available, first come first serve basis. The TVs in your room have indicator screen that tells you when these private onsens are open, but I suggest you wait around at the resting area right next to them until they are open to use. They fill up fast, resting area itself is very soothing and beautiful to spend time at, so grab a tea and enjoy the scenery through the windows outside while waiting. The onsens themselves were fantastic, they have all the basic amenities you need (don’t bring your towels from the room), and enjoy. If you are using public baths, be prepared to go fully naked. It’s part of the experience, very liberating. The ryokan itself was also very quiet and we truly had a resting stay. The futon was very clean and comfortable, you can adjust your temperature inside. Our only regret is that we should’ve stayed one more night here instead of others, because it was such a good experience of a stay.
