::A slight walk after a tram ride from Hakodate station, this restaurant is one of the highlights of our Japan trip. The restaurant was modern, clean and had a small view of the ocean. The chefs were friendly and they tried their best to explain each item in English with a smile. 10/10 service! We ordered the 11 nigiri piece lunch course for less than 5000yen each and it was so worth! We had the likes of scallops, chutoro and akami as well as snow crabs and sea urchin on the sushi. The chef also kindly asked and offered for smaller rice balls for my partner which was kindly appreciated. He went as far as cutting one piece in half so it’s bite sized. They also note that if your tea is less than half and will promptly swap your whole cup rather than refilling. Overall an extremely pleasant experience with delicious and fresh seafood, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. A must try!

::We asked our hotel to help make a reservation. It’s so worth it! Every dish is extremely well made. Hands down the most fresh and best tasting seafood I’ve ever had. The server is also very attentive. She would swap our tea with hot ones consistently for us to have the best tasting experience throughout the meal. Even though our sushi chef doesn’t speak much English, he tries his best to explain each dish to us, even pulling out a book in the middle to show us which fish we are eating. I very much enjoy this meal, and this will be one of my most cherished memory about Hakodate.

::Possibly the best sushi we’ve ever had. Every piece was delicious, the ambience and service was impeccable. The attention to detail on every piece by the chef and instructions on how to eat were a very nice touch. We never had sushi where we had to use salt before. Was a very delicious touch to accentuate the flavours of the sushi. Normally they operate by reservation only. We were lucky enough to walk in as soon as they opened at 5pm after a visit to the Hakodate botanical garden and they sat us right away since there was a cancellation.

::Took the city rail to get here. ~15min from the city center. Asked my friend to make an reservation in Japanese for the omasake and it was great! The hardest thing is to make a reservation. If you just wanna Sushi, walk-in might be ok.
