::Great seared bonito. Very busy with tourist buses, most left by 1:30pm if you’d rather avoid the crowds.

::We arrived in Kochi by cruise and was recommended to try the Katsuo Tataki, and was not disappointed. It was a fun experience to cook the fish over the open fire, (well directed by the chef there). And the taste was amazing, the searing process really bringing a great dimension to the flavour. They catered well for my kids, which has been a consistent plus in our time in Japan.

::Very unique experience with reasonable price! Must go for ones who are visiting Kochi. There are also a good market right beside it.

::This was so cool, get to sear your own katsuo here. You get a big block, they tell you what to do. There's a board on the wall that has English and the directions to you are pretty minimal (hold it here, turn it over, etc) and pretty easy to understand by hand movements so you don't have to know Japanese. Then they serve it with garnishes, I opted for garnishes only and it came to under $9 which is an incredible bargain. The only knock on this place is there is no direct bus or train here so you'll have to take a taxi or walk a bit to a bus stop.

::Make your bonito seared on fire, with some help by the staff, bonito plate only or with rice and miso soup combo. It was really good! Fresh and soft. Garnish with onions and garlic went well but best taste simply with a pinch of salt.
