::Perfectly located in Ueno park. Nice exhibitions. Cafe was packed so no room for lunch. Staff were wonderful - although not great with their English they had English maps which were very helpful. Lockers are available with 100 yen to pay, byt this is given back when you unlock the locker again. Plenty of people taking photos which is not allowed or ethical in an art museum.

::The special Brueghel exhibition is fairly poor. Not the best examples. The flower arranging displays are dramatic but odd in an art museum. The calligraphy section is what it is and good if you're interested in Japanese calligraphy. So all very limited.

::This is one of my favorite museums in Tokyo. They always have special exhibition from time to time. We just finished visiting the Vincent Van Gogh (Jan2018), you can see the museum had put in a lot of effort and the painting collection is from all over the world. They provide coin lockers (100yen each access) and water fountain. There are also 2 restaurants within the building. Price is reasonable. Don't forget to visit the merchandise shop, they have some nice goodies there!

::Truly enjoyed the Van Gogh special exhibit there. People lined up outside the closing gate before 9:30 am. The special exhibit has superb selections curated from various art institutes and private collectors around the world. However, the special exhibit is on three different levels connected by one-way escalator. Therefore, I cannot go back to see the art works displayed on previous level I just visited.
