::An eel restaurant located near Keio Tamagawa Station in Chofu City. This is a long-established store founded in 1941. When you pass through the magnificent gate that looks like a restaurant or inn, you will be greeted by a building that gives you a sense of history. This time I made a reservation and visited for lunch. The private room I was given was 8 tatami mats in size with a wide veranda, making me feel like I was traveling. ●Non-alcoholic beer (528 yen) Giraffe Greens Free. I have to drive, so this time it's non-alcoholic. ●Grilled liver (605 yen) It is carefully pasteurized and is full of aroma and bittersweet liver. I want to drink alcohol, but I'm patient. ●Lunch set (4,510 yen) ・Sashimi tuna and sea bream ・Small bowl of mozuku vinegar ・Unaju (small) ・ Bowl of liver soup ・Pickles: Chinese cabbage, Narazuke ・Water sweets Haruka (citrus) Sashimi tomozuku is consistently delicious. The eel served in the gozen is small, so only half of the eel is served. Moreover, it is lonely on the tail side. By the way, the Unaju Jo (4,270 yen) that my wife ordered was two pieces of eel. The eel itself is grilled to a fluffy texture, but the sauce has an elegant flavor with a mild punch. The amount of rice is also relatively small. I prefer a slightly stronger flavor, but this will vary from person to person. Finished with a rich flavor of liver and refreshing citrus. The staff at the store are called ``Nakai-san'' and serve customers in a courteous yet friendly manner. They bring tea and food in a timely manner. The second floor is a large banquet hall. There is a pond in the courtyard and a large old plum tree. Payment by credit card is OK. There are 3 parking spaces, but they are quite small. Why is there such a fine Japanese restaurant in this location? However, from my perspective, there are the Tamagawa River, Nikkatsu Studio (currently Kadokawa Daiei Studio), and Keiokaku in the vicinity. In the past, the Tamagawa River was a popular place to escape from the summer and enjoy cherry blossom viewing, and the large-scale film studio was crowded with actors and filmmakers.Keiokaku, now a bicycle velodrome, was a general leisure facility at the time. It seems that the place was taken over by the military during the war, so there must have been many soldiers there. When I imagine that this is a shop that was loved by such people, I am reminded of the bygone days of this historic building. A side note. I'm a fan of manga artist Sakura Tamakichi's diary manga, and I wonder if this is the eel restaurant that Tamakichi and Tokuko visited in his book ``Oyuru Mandama Diary''? I realized that. ::Parking available. Near Keio Tamagawa Station. This is a great eel restaurant with a Showa era atmosphere that looks like something out of a novel by Seicho Matsumoto. There is also a black telephone. I asked for a private room on the mezzanine floor over the phone. Ordered 2 specials, 2 averages, and 2 beer livers. Because the eel is so refreshing, even the special grade eel can be easily eaten. They will also make soup for you if you ask. Everyone at the store is very nice. I'll visit you again. Apparently they also do takeout.
