Had such a great dinner experience here. All the food we were served with were delicious! The ramen was so flavorful and light on the tummy. The chicken was soooo juicy and tasty too! The gyoza was mouth-wateringly amazing as well. On top of all that, Take-san was so welcoming and fun to talk to. He speaks great English so it was very easy to communicate as a foreigner. Definitely going back next time I'm in Japan. See you next time, Take-san!

The owner Takeshi is a wonderful human and a fantastic chef! Sit at the bar to watch him cook your ramen and fried chicken, or book a private room with friends on the second floor. Takeshi speaks English and he sells a great spice mix made with local Kokubunji ingredients! Truly a Tokyo gem in all of the ways!! See you next year, Takeshi!! :)

We found Tákē Tákē's izakaya on Google looking for a good place in Kokubunji to meet up with my old childhood friend. I made a reservation on Hot Pepper. Takeshi is very impressive in how he runs the whole business by himself: cooks, cleans and entertains! Plus with limited seats, when full, he had to turn away customers. He speaks English pretty well. The regulars were very easy to talk to and welcoming to us. We ordered gyoza, chili covered wontons, fried rice, and ikura uni aji tamago (seafood covered egg). They were delicious and easy to share! Tákē made excellent food recommendations to us. I love sake so he suggested a good variety he had in stock. My friends ordered highball and yuzu sours. We had a blast and only left to catch our last train home. I highly recommend this establishment!!! Thank you, Takeshisan! See you again soon, hopefully next year!!!

I've wanted to visit Chef Takeshi's restaurant for ages! As I saw his food, after connecting on Facebook via mutual friends. I finally got to go on a trip to Japan and was able to visit Takeshi and his fantastic food! I opted for Omakase(Chef's choice), as there was so much to try! The Maryland chicken he made was so delicious! Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. But not only that very flavoursome and if I wasn't on a mission to try and eat my way through his entire menu. The beer was served in an ice cold pitcher and was amazing! Japanese beer tastes much better in Japan. Next was Gyoza, 🥟 a speciality of Take Take. Chef Takeshi gave me a selection of pork, shiso leaf, Gari(Red pickled ginger) and shrimp(Prawns to us Aussies!). On their own the gyoza was amazing! I had brought with me a large jar of Vegemite for Chef Takeshi to experiment with. I tried some vegemite with the Gyoza dumplings and that was delicious too! I think Vegemite mixed with dumpling sauce dip is amazing! It was the first time I tried it. I can't wait to come back in the future and try more of Chef Takeshi's food experiments with the umami flavour bomb that is Vegemite! I also tried a spicy ramen that Chef Takeshi recommended. It was so delicious. Even though I have difficulties with spicy food these days, it was so tasty I endured and finished it, it was that lovely, and worthy of a revisit! Chef Takeshi is friendly and approachable attitude made it a great time. And loves to practise speaking English with people. I've not only had some delicious oishi and umai food, but made a life long friend too. Thanks you Chef Takeshi for your time and hospitality during my visit to your awesome little Izakaya!
