::This budget hotel is built beside a local railway station and attached with it by a passage. The room is clean and contemporary. The bed has good size, but it make me feel to squeeze other space. At evening, all around area except the station is soon going closed and sleep early.

::This hotel offered rooms through Rakuten Travel. Rakuten's default offering was a special rate requiring certain conditions be met, but these conditions were not explained, or, more specifically, they were explained off screen and there was no clear indication about the existence of these off-screen conditions. At the Internet point of purchase the quoted price simply looked like a basic offering. Upon check-in, the front desk dismissed my explanation, saying the hotel was not responsible for Rakuten's mistakes, and they canceled my reservation and re-booked me on the spot at a roughly 40% higher rate. I was not given a chance to re-book through Rakuten, so I lost all Rakuten points on the transaction, which points would have been equal to a roughly 10% discount. Frankly speaking, I do not accept Manten Hotel's position. While the error may have been Rakuten's, Manten Hotel is still the service provider, and it is ultimately their responsibility to assure that their product is being marketed accurately and ethically and to make some effort to make good on customer satisfaction at the venue when a problem is brought to their attention. A flippant dismissal of the issue is unacceptable. I felt strong-armed on the spot to accept their ultimatum. I didn't feel like a valued customer. In addition to this, the rooms are not very well appointed, and certainly are not worth the price they demanded. There are much better facilities available at more reasonable prices. I would have gone elsewhere, but check-in was after midnight with 18" of snow on the ground, so that was not a feasible option. This was my first time to stay at a Manten Hotel. I will not use Manten Hotel facilities again.

::Small single room and terrible air conditioning. It was in winter and I set the AC to the lowest level possible but the room was so hot like oven, thankfully, we could still open the window to dissipate the heat. Other than those, outstanding service by the staffs, nice sentou and amenities. You can also chose pillow types for your needs. And the most important thing, the hotel is so close to Takaoka station and konbini.

::We like the two twin size bed option that this hotel has. The normal 2 person bed in Japan are so small. The beds are extremely firm (that is perfect for us). Very nice clean and professional hotel. I have no issues communicating in English. It has a covered elevated walkway to the Toyama train station across the street.

::So... I'm here right now and don't know about the other rooms as I chose is the smallest price (as usual) but that's not the point ... The room I'm in right now is very small (much smaller than i expected or looked on the website) and even being the cheapest, for the same price I usually stay in much better rooms on the Route Inn Hotel with wardrobe, more space, very better fridge (This one here, barely fit a small bottle of water) and the breakfast included, has no comparison. PS: I'm NOT making a bad review, The hotel has a good location, good staff, all the services works as expected and the Hotel itself is quite fine and exquisite, so... the more expensive rooms are probably much better. I'm just saying that if you like me, usually choose cheap rooms for one night stay, that's not the right Hotel, there are better options for the same price out there.
