In the end, we agreed to have the treatment proceed as much as possible before the surgery, but regarding the letter reporting the treatment status to the cardiac surgeon in Tokyo, he said, ``I don't want to be bothered if they complain about it later, so I don't want to receive treatment. I'll give you a reply that it won't end. It's impossible.'' I felt very anxious as I was about to undergo a major life-threatening surgery. Once admission to the hospital began, treatment was carried out as follows. 1st treatment: Treatment of two small cavities 2nd time: ``I'm going to clean it today'' and remove tartar from only the upper teeth. 3rd time: ``This time it's cleaning again'' and only removing tartar from the lower teeth. I wondered why he had to spend so much time removing tartar twice, but since I didn't have time before surgery, I couldn't change to another dentist now. After that, I was admitted to a cardiac surgeon in Tokyo for an examination, and the date for the actual surgery was finally decided. When I asked him about the progress of his dental treatment, and I told him that all I had done so far was to remove tartar, he gave me a very suspicious look. After being hospitalized for tests, I returned to Aomori and had my last dental treatment before surgery. Once again, I was surprised when I was told, ``I'm going to clean your teeth today.'' I told her that my teeth had been cleaned twice, once last time and the time before last, but she said, ``There's still some stains,'' and she asked me to remove tartar from the top and bottom again. Finally, the director turned away and said, ``Good luck with your surgery,'' and all pre-surgery treatment was completed. Maybe it's because I'm a rural practitioner, but I had a very unpleasant experience. I felt that there was a lot of room for improvement in my response as a doctor.

I was able to finish it in a short time because I was able to hold it down. Some people may think it's too much to force a crying child, but as a parent of this type of child, it's very helpful. This dentist also provides dentistry for children with disabilities, and although it may seem difficult as some of the children often get violent, I'm impressed with how well the dentist (there are several dental assistants) handles the situation well.
