::Wonderful find. Came across this winery after a weekend of travel in Nagano. Could not be happier. The winery had a nice shop and beautiful outdoor seating. Reminded me of many great wineries back at home in the US.

::One of the top 5 dinners of my life! My husband, three daughters (ages 10, 8 and 6) and I all went on the St. Cousair wine tasting tour and dinner. And I’m so glad we did! The tour lasted about 30 minutes where an English speaking guide showed and taught us about the wine making process at their winery from growing to corking. He even had a large piece of cork bark which he let the girls hold and each cork a bottle the old fashioned way. After the tour we went to the winery tasting area and delicatessen. I was surprised to learn of all the other wonderful natural foods that St. Cousair makes from jams and sauces to sausage and cheese. We tasted about 5 different wines and the girls were given a delicious grape juice. Last was the dinner at dusk which was the highlight. The restaurant with large windows sat on a hill over looking the lights and snow of the valley. It was a beautiful view and the white table clothed table was set so nicely. The children’s meal arrived first which is always nice for parents. The children’s meal was a large plate filled with an omelet stuffed with rice and veggies, homemade sausage, fried shrimp, soup, homemade bread and salad. I have moderate picky eaters but they loved all the food. Soon after the adults food arrived. From soup to salad to local salmon to the steak dinner every bite of the adult 4 course meal was delicious. And then the dessert! My husband said the chocolate mouse was the best he had ever tasted. We left the evening so satisfied. And the transportation from our hotel and back was an extra bonus. (From Akakura the drive was about 20 minutes). I think this dinner and tour is a hidden gem. It was definitely worth every penny and we will remember it always as one of the highlights to our vacation.

::Interesting jams, wines and sauces. The second floor is easy to miss, but worth the climb to see all the wine accessories and table ware from Poland. 15 min tours of winery, free wine tasting, attached cafe with outside seating make this a worthwhile stop
