I didn’t even know that the local onsen was included in my room package, but the front desk offered to drive me there and gave me a basket with towels and soaps/shampoos for me which was so nice. I was thoroughly impressed with the service here and would definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again. I was a solo traveler (cycling the Shimanami Kaido) and had a great time here.

Nice quiet ryokan to spend the night. around 300m from Oyamazumi Shrine, a heritage site. Free transfer and discounted entry to Mare Grassia, a salt water onsen. Dinner was an amazing spread of sashimi. Sachiko-san was very attentive to our needs during dinner.

We stayed her for two nights during our bicycle trip. The room was huge, spotless and had a newly renovated (we stayed in “Fuji”) on suite bathroom. The staff was very friendly we tried our best Japanese and the owner some English. There was indoor bike parking with rack, with an entire suite of tools, lube, pumps, rags to clean your bike anything you might need. There was also a washer, no charge and a 100 yen dryer, which was great! The town was very cute with nearby brewery a few restaurants, Lawson across the street, cute shrine, nearby sea salt factory. Breakfast was typical Japanese food and very good. We did one dinner which was reasonably priced for the quality of the food which was delicious and outstanding. The common areas were old school which was very quaint. We use Sawaki luggage forwarding which worked without a hitch! We also had great luck that the cherry blossoms were blooming!

I stayed there for one night and it was GREAT. They offer a spacious room with some welcome sweets and tea. There are also Yukata you can wear freely around the Ryokan. If you want to experience a real Japanese breakfast, that is the spot!

If you want to experience Japan the way it should be experienced, then you have to come this in!! Everything, from the room to the staff to the food. EVERYTHING was on point! You HAVE to try the dinner here. It will give you the entire japanese experience with fresh fish, soups, grilled fish… everything was AMAZING! If I’ll ever go back to Omishima Island, that’s the place I’ll stay again!
