  Wondering retreat, beautifully designed. Dinner and breakfast was very yummy and the service was fantastic! I am thankful to all the staff for trying to speak English to us as our Japanese was very limited.

  We made a reservation through Agoda from 5.20 to 5.22. Oops!!! The hotel side sent us an email requesting an additional charge of twice the amount we booked with a simple apology that we had booked at the wrong rate. We were planning an overseas trip, but a few days before departure, our plans were disrupted, ruining the mood of our family. In the end, we canceled the reservation because the attitude of charging an extra fee was unpleasant. When I complained to Agoda, they said it was a mistake by the hotel. They misrepresented the amount on the reservation site and simply charged the additional amount by e-mail. This is a very outrageous hotel. While living in Tokyo for 4 years, we stayed at several hotels such as Peninsula, Mandarin, Imperial Hotel, Aman, Shangri-La, Four Seasons, etc., but their customer service level was not like this. The price here is similar to those hotels, but the customer service is not as good as the Inn level. This is an unreliable hotel. It doesn't seem like a place to retreat at all. Did the owner instruct the employee to get the money right?..or was the employee just trying to cover up his mistake?

  Beautiful surroundings next to river and mountains. hotel is concrete solid gray building. Rooms are nice but choose the modern newly renovated ones as the older traditional rooms are old and badly lit up. Food is good and service great.

  Stunning suite with private spa. The restaurant was of the highest quality, but the most remarkable aspect of this resort was the exceptionally high caliber staff.
