::The Mog Champ sends his regards. I came here with the same idea as most visitors. For the chicken nanban which is a Miyazaki speciality! This traditional restaurant delivered my every expectation. I ordered their signature chicken nanban of course and it came out quite fast! The service was friendly and the inside was clean and spacious, it may have looked like any other family restaurant but this one felt a bit more cozy than others! ::We arrived at 10.45am. There was already a few people in the queue. So you need to write your name and number of diners first on the sheet and you will be called in. Menu was all in Japanese. So having a google translate will be handy. We ordered the chicken cutlet set and onigiri. All was good.

::The very authentic traditional origin of Chicken Nambun. One of the “must” visit places in Miyazaki city. We needed to wait for 20 minutes to be seated and 15-20 to wait for served food on Monday weekday, we arrived a few minutes before noon. But 100% satisfied with the food after waiting.

::We walked into the restaurant hungry and left feeling entirely confused. We're very confused how this restaurant earned its 4 star reviews, when their supposed famous nanban chicken is so tough to chew and the sauces are just too heavy tasting. I ordered the largest platter that includes beef skewers which is completely inedible. The beef skewer smells too beefy and too tough to chew. I left the entire skewer untouched.

::I'm usually pretty skeptical about big tourist-y looking restaurants cause I've been let down too many times when it comes to the quality of food, but this place is the real deal. Old diner sort of vibes, with that mix of Japanese and western styles that feels so very... Japanese. lol But the chicken nanban is so much better than what I was expecting. The chicken is extremely tender and well seasoned, and somehow doesn't taste or feel super greasy like a lot of fried chicken does. It also comes with a massive heap of sauce on top... and as heavy as it was... man it was so good. I'm not much of a mayonnaise guy, but this stuff with the chicken is seriously good. This is a heavy meal. But it is so worth. Definitely a spot to hit when in Miyazaki.
