::The first floor of the popular Nikuyama restaurant. The staff are kind, polite, and have great hospitality. Both the hamburger and curry were very delicious 😋 It's okay to bring children, and they will accommodate you kindly. I also received a pin badge as a gift 🎁

::I came here because I wanted to eat a delicious steak for lunch while also preventing summer fatigue. When the steak first came out, I was surprised at how dark it was. Apparently, the steaks at this restaurant are grilled over charcoal rather than on the usual griddle. Also, when I ordered 300g, instead of receiving a lump of meat, I received two pieces of 150g, which seemed a bit disappointing. To be honest, isn't this grilled beef rather than steak? However, when I ate it, I felt surprisingly satisfied, perhaps because of the aroma of the charcoal, the flavor of the steak's fat, and the firm texture of the red meat. Also, for some reason, the soup in the set was called pork soup instead of the usual consommé or potage, so by the time I finished eating one slice, I was satisfied with the feeling of having eaten meat. This restaurant is literally a restaurant for meat lovers to enjoy meat. Rather than being a safe restaurant that I would recommend to everyone, it is a restaurant that I would recommend to serious meat lovers.

::Steak & Hamburg 🥩🐄 @nikugaoka Nikugaoka is located on the 1st floor of the same building which houses Nikuyama, their sister restaurant which is famed for its yakiniku tasting course. 🍖🍗 The 2 main attractions were the steak & hamburg dishes - so went for a combination of both!😅Rib Roast (200g) & hamburg (100g) with Yuzu cream sauce, plus miso soup & rice set. 🥣🍚 The rib roast steak (Australian grass fed beef) had an amazing texture, tenderness & strong umami with each bite. Compared to many other restaurants, the quality was much better & great value. 🉐 The hamburg was extremely good 100% pure wagyu. Immediately after ordering, I saw the chef take the ground beef from the refrigerator & begin expertly slapping and moulding it into shape with his hands, like a world-class bartender making a speciality cocktail. 🤲🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 The meat was so delicious, with juices flowing after cutting into it with a knife. The yuzu cream sauce was excellent - soft & rich initially, before the spice hits your tongue after a few seconds, and was a great match for the hamburg. 😋 Miso soup was hearty, containing large spring onions and eggplant, and the rice was the perfect companion to the meat and vegetables (roast potatoes & shishito pepper). 🧅🍆🥔🫑 Asking for a refill of rice, the owner Yokozeki-san kindly gave me some complimentary Nikuyama curry (which contains cut-offs of A5 grade beef) 😳 The deep umami and the melt-in-your-mouth beef was amazing, one of the richest curries I have ever tasted. 💯🥇 I had a great discussion about the current state of restaurants in Tokyo/Kichijoji and how it is vital for us to continue supporting our local businesses. 📣🤗🤝🍽 Nikugaoka is a hidden gem in Kichijoji, and does the best hamburg by far, for an amazing price too! They also offer takeout food & alcohol, with some items (hamburgers, etc.) exclusively available got takeout only. 🥡🍔🍱 Finally, a secret tip for people who want to try the Nikuyama menu but cannot get a reservation - Nikugaoka offers the exact same menu & cuts of meat, but without the 2-3 month wait! 🤩😎 Please contact them for more details and take advantage of this awesome opportunity. ☎️📧
