Very nice quiet place surrounded by nature. The Onsen is big, no sauna.

I checked it out on Google map and used only the Higaeri Onsen 日帰り温泉. The bathroom was a small space, but there was an open air bath and I was the only user! Despite the price of 800 yen, I had a luxurious time! Both front desk staffs were very kind and I felt Japanese hospitality OMOTENASHI🙏! I would like to stay overnight next time! Arigato gozaimashita.

The dinner and breakfast were delicious and bigger than expected. Onsen is a bit stinky and mouldy, but rooms are comfortable enough. View from our room was very nice. Walkable distance to Kegon falls.

The place was great, i love it...It was very warm and homey..Oh! And the food too! It was delish!!! I love my stay at this hotel (ryokan). My room is at the 6th floor, overlooking the moon & Lake Chuzenji. Ahahaha..The room is clean, Small but cozy...If you want to experience traditional Japanese-style Inn, then this is a good place to consider...The open air bath was very kind to my aching muscles and my sheen splints. Nikko has always been very close to my heart. And staying at this hotel only makes it even more special. :)

During our trip to the lake we went to the Sansui Onsen tot warm up from the cold outside. As we entered the building everything seemed okay, but when we were escorted to the onsen we (both male and female) were heavily disappointed. As we entered, a strong, sour smell came towards us from the abundance of mold. The walls were covered with it. There was no relaxation possible. Upon deciding to move to the outside bath, the smell got even worse. Also, there were floating 'things' in the water and to top it off everybody could watch you being naked from the street. Needless to say, we left even more dirty than we arrived. Don't go to this onsen.
