::Stumbled upon this shop while on a stroll in Higashiyama. The Uji Macha Kintoki Kakikori was delicious. Rich in flavor, the shiratama soft and chewy, and anko nice and sweet. Definitely a must visit when in Kyoto :)

::Having nearly 500 years of history, the environment of this restaurant is different from others. I have been coming here since about 10 years ago. I order matcha shaved ice every time and never been disappointed. A polite German young man works here this time. I can see the old shop changing but in a good way.👍

::Located near by Yasaka shrine. Cozy place and feeling Japanese-modern taste. Matcha-parfait and ice shave were awesome. It’s not for tourists too much, more natural cafe. You should go definitely there both Yasaka shrine and the cafe.

::Nikenchaya has been here at the side entrance to Yasaka Shrine for almost 500 years. Today the storehouse is a beautifully lit cafe. I had the Oshiruko, a red bean soup with fresh Kyoto gluten and mochi balls, but what’s famous here is the Dengaku Tofu, tofu covered in their special peppery sauce.
