::Tasty Japanese Izakaya with lots of local dishes to super reasonable prices. The food was very good and we enjoyed every dish. Especially the fried Tebasaki (手羽先) are soooo yummy and I could stay there all day and enjoy the wings. Not only are they well fried - yet not too much - and they are seasoned extremely good, an awesome mix of pepper and sweetness. (On the photo you see only two tebasaki, but we received three. I was just too slow with the photo 🙈) The Izakaya is located in a modern western-style house but once you enter the restaurant you feel like you have entered a very traditional Japanese place. The staff was very nice and the service was fast. Not sure if they have an English menu, but as we speak Japanese we did not ask for any. Smoking is allowed in the restaurant however, we did not smell any nicotine - and we are very sensitive. People are sitting in their dedicated boxes yet you are able to hear the good old Izakaya vividness. Next time we are in Hirosaki we will make sure to visit again. GREAT EXPERIENCE. ありがとうござました!

::I stopped by for dinner, but whatever I ate was delicious. I thought it would have been better if there was something more Aomori-like.

::I received a map of restaurants at the front desk of the hotel I was staying at, and when I looked for a nearby restaurant that was open until late, I found this restaurant and decided to use it. It was an izakaya that had a wide selection of shochu, and since I had come all the way to Hirosaki, I decided to get a shochu. In addition to Toyosaka, they also had a selection of local Aomori sake. It was nice to have a nostalgic feeling that the appetizers were cheap sweets. The stew was delicious. We also mainly tried local Tsugaru cuisine. The table seats were set up like semi-private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables, so you could relax.
