::One of the better places to try Uji matcha. I would caution on when you arrive. The wait time could be super long depending on when you show up. Otherwise the sweets and noodles were top notch!

::There are 2 Nakamura Tokichi Hoten stores in Uji. This one is right in front of the train station (crossing one main street). We arrived 9:45am and there was already a line formed in front of store. Store opens at 10am and it opened punctually. We streamed inside and there was a lady helping us with getting a tkt for seating. There were about 30 "groups" (mostly 2-4 people groups) in front of us. There is the tea shop and a very relaxing courtyard for people to sit around while waiting. We waited for about 35 mins and we were called. (You can also check your status by scanning the code on your tkt). We were welcomed and led to our table by a sweet lady. She have us menu and make sure we know we have to order an item per person. Soon after, another lady brought us complimentary tea *Nakamura* blend. We orderly the Nakamura parfait set, a hot green tea noodle, and a cold green tea noodle set. Everything was delicious. The parfait was light creamy and not too sweet mixed in with some crunch and berries. It was a good mix of sweet, tart and milky. Paired with a frothy green tea, it was divine. I had the hot green tea noodle and it came with a green tea umami oil. Omg...it was so good. It lifted the green tea noodle to a different level (plus some citrus grinds) it smelled and tasted so good. Great balanced between light, fresh, hot & savory.... The cold noodles has the same condiments and it has a green tea jelly dessert. We enjoyed thoroughly and are looking forward to our next trip back already.

::The most popular matcha place in Uji. It's not possible to reserve, but you can get a ticket to line up and follow the queue time via your phone. But even when going early, the queue was 2 hours long. Later in the day it can end up to be 3 hours. In the meantime, you can stroll around their shop and discover the neighborhood. The food was good and unique since matcha was practically incorporated in every menu. Try the matcha they have on their drink menu, but be aware there are multiple types of ceremonial matcha: thick and thin/watery matcha.

::Waited four hours to eat dessert inside but they have an amazing electronic queueing system!! (I went at 11am and ate at 3pm) Yummy matcha dessert. Noodles all sold out at 3pm. Waited in line for a bit long in the shop, they could hire a few more people to speed up buying gifts!! Really tasty products!!!

::We went on Friday around 10am and had to wait 2 hours. When we got back from walking around we manage to get in with just few min wait. Pro tip when you get off the train bee line for the place to grab your ticket, once you have the ticket scan the qr to know how long you have to wait, when we left there was a 3 hour wait. This wait to can explore the area while waiting. The bamboo ice cream is overrated so disappointing.
