  It seems that several types of QR codes such as Merpay and PayPay can be used, but the staff are not very familiar with them, so even if you are told that they cannot be used, it is a good idea to ask again if it is a QR code that says on the sign that it can be used. It's a really simple, small post office, so I guess you don't have to ask for much.
