::I wanted to spend the night in Shirakawago and not be part of the day trippers. This was a great place to stay! Dinner is served at 6pm, breakfast at 7:30am, and check out is 9am. She will keep your luggage until you are ready to leave. We arrived in Shirakawago at 3pm and left on the bus the next day at 11:30. It was perfect. In the evening we were able to put on the provided yukata and take pictures around town in front of the buildings. A wonderful stay.

::18000 yen per night per person including breakfast and dinner. Shared bathroom… with all the guests … Breakfast at 7:30 am, Dinner at 6;00 pm, check out at 9:30. Decide if this suits you. Typical Japanese stay, rooms, food, schedule. Rooms only separated by thin walls so hopefully your neighbors don’t snore. You will hear the kitchen noise at 5 am during breakfast preparation. Still a great place to experience Japan. Typical rooms, good food and the village is peaceful during the night. Location is great . So you need to compromise… 3 to 4 stars because of the schedule and some noise . 5 stars for the rest

::Had a beautiful overnight stay. Our host was so kind and welcoming, with exquisite care and delicious food for both dinner and breakfast. Sipping tea and watching dusk quietly fall over the village made the journey to Shirakawa-go more memorable and magical. Amazing cedar bath tub!!

::Location is the best part of this place. Prepare Google translate to communicate. With heavy snow no accomodations were made to help with luggage. Walls are paper thin and non existent so you can hear your neighbor cough. Food was spectacular (excellent wuality and fresh ingredients) and they have spare snow boots for guests. Biggest positive is the location! Booked it direct via email for Jan 2023 and 1 night was around $150USD with dinner/breakfast. Follow visitor guide map and not Google maps for a better route. 7 minute walk from the main bus terminal and 15 minute walk from observation point.

::Great guest house ! Owners are very nice. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, served at 6pm and 7:30am respectively. Both were traditional local food although the owner offered to cook the eggs for those of us who don’t like them raw. Room was traditional (tatami, futon) very clean with access to the engawa. Other amenities are shared with the other guests. No TV, you get to enjoy the ‘quiet’ atmosphere of a mountain village. From 5pm to 10am you can enjoy the village without the crowds.
