::It may be retro, but the inside is a very stylish space, with some nostalgic things like local specialties and an old-fashioned sweets shop. There is also a hand drip coffee shop where you can enjoy delicious coffee. it's recommended.

::Reopening after closing. There is such a thing. Speaking of Marukan Department Store, there is the Marukan Department Store Dining Room on the 6th floor. It seems to be a valuable restaurant that is one of only a few in Japan that boasts a class-sized dining room. You can purchase a ``meal ticket'' by interacting with a store clerk without using a handy terminal or intercom. I handed it to the maid (I purposely call her that) and told her the table number. I think the typical scenery of the Showa era remains here. During summer vacation, local students bring over 10 of their friends from other prefectures and they all order the ``famous 10-tier soft-serve ice cream.'' The maid carries more than 10 pieces of soft-serve ice cream on a tray and delivers them to the students who ordered them before they melt. That scene was truly amazing. It is common for the students' cheers to echo through the cafeteria when the package arrives. Maybe it's because I'm a Hanamaki person that I feel proud even though it's not even about me. This is a Marukan department store that I hope will remain around for a long time to come.

::If you come to Hanamaki, you have to visit Marukan Building's 6th floor. The Marukan soft (icecream) is really good and the view is great. The lunchtime rush is crazy, but the experience is worth it!

::I went to eat soft serve ice cream on the afternoon of Golden Week. I had never seen the restaurant on the top floor of a (former) department store so crowded. I can't upload a photo because it shows my face, but that large floor was packed with people. After everyone finished their meal, they were waiting for their famous soft serve ice cream. When I bought the ticket, the display said ``There will be a 30-40 minute wait for the soft serve ice cream,'' but it took an hour to get it. As expected, everyone is a regular customer, and they wait calmly as if it's normal. It's amazing. The soft serve ice cream was really delicious and worth the wait. What kept it from collapsing even when rolled so large and high was what was inside it. What a hollow space! Mechanically, gravity is placed in the center, and I was amazed at the high level of skill of the people who made it. By the time I returned, the display had changed to ``Waiting for over 1 hour''. No matter how long you wait, you'll want to eat Hanamaki's soul food forever.

::2017.8 Weekday afternoon. Great success. Customers are coming up to the 6th floor one after another. Sounds good! I'm kind of excited. The store staff are efficient and the place is comfortable. Rotation is also good. It's not particularly super delicious, but it's not bad either. Just fun. The other menus are as voluminous as the 10-tier software. Personally, I don't need a Neapolitan cutlet, I just want to eat Neapolitan. Why is there no single item? The website says that you can only eat soft serve ice cream and ramen, but they have a variety of other menu items. Plus, you can roll the soft serve ice cream into 10 layers. Floors 2 to 5 are closed. When I got off the stairs instead of the elevator, I saw a photo panel pasted on it, and when combined with the dim atmosphere of the old stairs, I was struck by a strange, sad, lonely feeling. Also, this paradise-like restaurant mysteriously appears in the middle of the ruins the moment the elevator opens, and it feels like I'm seeing a vision, like the bar scene in The Shining. It was strange to be overwhelmed with all kinds of feelings and emotions, including nostalgia, fun, and sadness. Does it differ depending on the age? However, all the customers here were smiling and having fun. The first floor is a collection of fashionable miscellaneous goods that you would find in local department stores and a simple stylish cafe. Overall it's expensive and not very interesting. Personally, I feel like this is not the case.
