::I entered the store at lunch time on a rainy day, and the hall was empty, so I waited at the entrance for a while. As I was folding up my folding umbrella, a female clerk silently approached me and looked into my face from below. "At least say something! That's rude," I muttered to myself as I sat down. Too uncomfortable. Was I that suspicious? Even though it was his first time coming to the famous Compal, he was disappointed by the disappointing treatment he received from his first move. There is no place to store luggage at the counter seats, which is a problem. I ordered the famous fried shrimp sandwich and iced cafe au lait. As I was waiting, I looked around the store and saw dirty trash cans and rags visible from the customer seats. It seems like a store with no delicacy. Well, that's what Nagoya is like. The houseplants are also withering. After a while, the cafe au lait glass came out with coffee still on the plate. Wipe it out... It's a really unfriendly store. Next was the fried shrimp sandwich. I say it when I'm in the worst mood. How delicious! this is! The sourness of the tartar sauce was effective and the balance with the fried shrimp was perfect. The addition of eggs adds a nice fluffy texture. I was impressed by the well-thought-out balance. I was able to eat till the end without getting hungry even though I was around 400 yen. I was surprised because I don't like Nagoya food and had no expectations at all. The flavor isn't that strong, and there's no ridiculous amount of pepper in it. I would definitely recommend it to tourists. I think it would be better to go to another store if possible... I also noticed a faint cigarette smell, but after reading the 1 star reviews below, I was satisfied.

::I came to Compal Imaike store, arrived 5 minutes before opening. I ordered the morning set. Hot and ham and egg toast was brought immediately. I was surprised at the size. The price was ¥630.

::The most charming coffee/ sandwich shop. Seats about 40 with a combination of bar seats and cushion tables and booths. ADA wheel chair compliant. Incredibly clean, and delicious food. The bread has to be homemade fresh. I ordered set A for 750 yen. (lunch special (11am-2pm) which includes a tonkutsu sandwich with veggies and the most tasty sauce. Parking may be different however there are many pay lots just a few steps away. From the Imaike subway exit9 it is about 5 minutes walk. Very good quality coffee. I would absolutely return for set B. My spouse said if you arrive before 11am the coffee comes with free Japanese toast. I think 550 yen coffee and toast.
