::Location can be challenging to find but worth it. Nice place, spacious, old house but well maintained. Outdoor and indoor Onsen bath outside room. No bath in room. Delicious dinner and breakfast

::A stunning Ryokan tucked in the forest-y area adjacent to Lake Tazawa. Our room was spacious and comfy, our room faced a small stream which provided a nice background noise if you open the window. Dinner here was impressive and breakfast was ok. The onsen on site is nice and the water temperature is perfect. The bath are separated by gender and each side boasts an indoor and outdoor bath (the ladies side had a small wooden shelter). During our stay the gent's side outdoor bath was too cold, probably due to the rain. The hotel does charter a bus to bring all residence to another famous onsen area around here, known for their milky blue mixed bath. I personally liked the onsen within Komagatake better. The staff here is friendly and take the extra mile to explain everything in English. Bus is provided to pick up and drop off patrons from the nearest train station.

::Absolutely stunning onsen hotel just off the beaten path. It was close by Tazawako Ski resort and open late. I truly enjoyed sitting in the outdoor bath building little snow animals while watching the snow fall. The bubbling stream and the forest surrounding us were also breathtaking. The price was also cheap (¥500) and you could pay through a ticket machine quickly and easily. It was a great overall experience.

::One of the best hotels I have ever visited. The room is spacious. There are two open air private baths where you can see beautiful stream and woods. The water is 100% natural hot spring. The water is clear with a smell of sulfur, oil and wood. The water contains a bunch of ions. The facilities are clean. The food was great. They offer shuttle service for Tsurunoyu at 20:00.

::Peaceful and relaxing!! If you have ever been to an onsen before, this one is easy to navigate and they speak a bit of english. The outside pool is amazing in winter and the noodle shop is delicious. I have lived on and off in the Akita prefecture and this is my favorite onsen. The water is hot but not too hot there is plenty of sulfur in the water but it does not stink too bad. I feel like I have had a whole body massage after 30 minutes in that water. Don't forget to take at least one shower with shampoo and soap before you get in the water. Most men do multiple scrubs and showers before soaking for a long time
