::Nice hotel. Although we only come for the lunch, we are still very impressed by the architecture of this place. This place obviously has a great history behind it and has been converted to a hot spring hotel/resort. Walking around, you can still feel the spirits of japanese samurai lingering in the house and the garden.

::The ryokan itself is a collection of historic houses. We were told some of those hut like structures were moved from their original places to this site to form this ryokan. There are many different area with different scenery. They even have a small museum showing historical artifacts. Rooms are very big and private semi-outdoor bath is also impressive. Did I mention you can see water fall from the public bath? Anyway, a truly memorable experience.

::I stayed here in January and it was amazing. It was more like a historic village than a hotel. So many antiques to see, not to mention the peaceful atmosphere and lovely onsen. 10/10 would stay again!

::Stunning hot spring in the middle of a Gunma mountain town adjoined by several classic-style buildings. You could easily spend a day browsing the different exhibits of Japanese artifacts. The collection of old figures and kokeshi dolls is especially interesting.

::There still remain the tranditional interior and very classic furnitures I love!!! Of course food and onsen are nice too😉 highly recommended P.S. The entrance is a bit far from the accommodation area, better to reserve the shuttle bus in advance a day before, they will send you back to an entrance! 😉
