::I rode my bike without knowing what kind of facility it was, but the gate blocked me so I turned back. On the way, I saw something called Kannon water... It was delicious water, or maybe I should just take a bath lol

::Very authentic experience, with great food and amazing views. A hidden gem in the mountains far away from the commotion of the busy cities. Sleeping on the floor was not the easiest but you have to love the experience. Thank you!

::It is literally on THE TOP of the mountain. View is 10/10, breathtaking. If you don't have a car, you must request a shuttle or else you'll be walking for days. Actually I recomend requesting the chauffeur instead of renting a car. They only have a few rooms so there are two staff who are doing everything from chauffeur, cleaning, cooking, preparing bath etc. This allowed my partner and I to feel comfortable and at-home-feeling with a butler because of their friendliness. The fire ceremony they do in the morning is an experience you won't get anywhere else, highly recommended even if you're not religious. Waking up early to see the sunrise is a must. They have an inside and an outside bath. We went to the outside bath when the outside temperature was below 10 degrees Celsius. It's not everyday you can have an onsen on the top of a mountain surrounded by nature. If you want to meditate, get away from the everday chaotic life, get away from the city, then Ikumo is the accommodation you must choose. You will also get free entry to Natadera Temple as long as you tell the temple reception that you're staying at Ikumo. Also, there is no convenience store, no shops, once you enter the mountain so if you get hungry easily, prepare some snacks. They do provide welcome drink and snack however. Amenities are provided. Wifi is provided and a bit slow but don't even bother connecting... Get off your phones/tablets and just bring a book and enjoy the view. The lodge really encourages you to appreciate life, our ancestors and all aspects of nature. Any artists out there, bring your sketchbook. Loved the food, loved the staff, loved the location.

::Unique location, private bath is absolutely stunning, great friendly service. They even happily went out of their way to drive all the way (30min) back to the station for us just to return a mobile phone that we lost! Highly recommended.

::Visiting the Natadera temple complex and spending the night at Ikumo was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Highly recommended, the place is amazing. The staff was super friendly ( just bear in mind they speak almost no English)
