Pros: close to station Cons: The room smelled of smoke so bad you can't even breathe. The bed had stains all over it and hairs. The bathroom had a smell. There was dust everywhere. You can't even open the window, so you're trapped in the smell.

We only had one night, perfect location. Rooms were spacious. We experienced a 4.5 earthquake at 11pm, the hotel swayed back and forth but nothing fell down, no damage at all. Hotel breakfast was good.

My son and I were here in November 23 on a bike riding trip. Staff were super helpful, let us store bikes in lobby. Great location, rooms are getting a little tired, we had an awesome view though which made up for any negatives. Would definitely stay there again.(awesome bagel shop next door)

Unfortunately this hotel was not of a good standard. The cleaning was lacking and the room felt dirty with mould visible on the window and in places in the grout in the bathroom. Old and tired furniture and bed linen. The room had an unpleasant odour despite it being a non-smoking room and we had to wrestle with opening the window to get some ventilation. The mattress was extremely hard and after two nights we were sore. Very noisy well into the night with street noise. The positive was that there was good laundry facilities to use. The staff were pleasantly and friendly. Fantastic view of the castle. While we are not particularly fussy we require basic cleanliness in accommodation. Would not stay again.

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 18-night Japan trip and yet it was the worst. We paid $370AUD for one night to sleep on a rock solid bed that hurt my ribs to lay on. The ground likely would have been comfier. The room was outdated with water damage, marks all over the walls, mould in the bathroom and frayed fabric furnishings. It felt so dirty and cheap despite the price tag and the fancy lobby.
