::Fabulous hotel in the shadow of the Hakkōda Mountains with easy access to some of the best backcountry skiing Japan has to offer. You can rent skis here and hire a guide—ask for Hase. They have a delicious Japanese style breakfast buffet, hot springs and a well-stocked bar. The service is professional and friendly. Unlike the Westernized resorts of Hokkaido, this place is a full immersion into the real Japan. I also must mention the food— every bite from any plate will send your tastebuds into Ecstasy. The dinners are an 8-plate culinary extravaganza that can only be described as Ambrosia.

::I don’t know how this place is only 3 stars. The rooms were big, comfortable and very clean The dinner & breakfast were the best I’ve had in Japan for the price of the rooms The onsen was pretty good too

::Got off to a flying start as we were graded from a standard twin to a superior on arrival. Package included breakfast and dinner. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and dinner was several courses of local delights. Went out with the hotel guides and not only are they professional but very good value. The Hakkoda onsen run in particular was well worth it. Without the guides we would have been stuck with the usual ropeway runs due to poor visibility.

::Decided to rewrite my review. Hotel pluses: 1) Great location far away from civilization. It can be good for some soul rest. 2) Beautiful mountains and forest around 3) Great SPA, working even during the night. For free. Great massage chairs for free and nice fitness area. 4) Good rooms but a small bathroom, not enough hooks for towels and clothes. 5) Very nice breakfast and dinner 6) Transfer by bus to the Hakkoda ropeway and Aomori. Hotel minuses: 1) Meals aren't included in the room price. Breakfast price 3300 Yen, dinner price - 6600 Yen. No restaurant or bar where you can buy drinks or some food. Only vending machines. For example, typical breakfast/lunch price in Aomori/Hakkoda restaurant 1000-1300 Yen. It's a bad practice. I was in the hotel on the top of the mountains in Zell am See, Austria. Breakfast and dinner were included as mandatory service in the price of the room. And this hotel is expensive enough. 2) No restaurants/shops around 3) Only one skiresort is available by transfer.

::We booked the Royal suite for one night. We enjoyed the fireplace and the jacuzzi. The living room has some nice views on the forest and the mountains. I didn’t put five stars on the room because of the smell in the bathroom. That was the only the bad part of our stay. Food was awesome too!
