::If you really want to eat King Crab there just tell the staff what your budget is then the staff will pick one for you. Ours was 30,000 yen for the King Crab cooked in both BBQ and steam. It was so fresh! There are other menus in the restaurant like kaisendon. Cold water is served and there's hot tea too which you can serve yourself.

::This spot offers a variety of food (sashimi, donburi, bbq). We visited for two meals: #1 crab 🦀 prepared sashimi and BBQ. BBQ was better than the sashimi because it was more flavorful. #2 donburi for 1540 yen where you can select 3 out of 9 different toppings (real crab, sea urchin, salmon roe, squid, scallop, salmon, surf clam, tuna). Also includes miso soup. Location is 5 mins walk from Hakodate Eki station. Staff are friendly. Give it a shot!

::There are a lot of choices in the vicinity. We chose this shop because a shop owner at the next door shop pointed us to their mini-don (which i like). For JPY1320, you can choose 3 kinds of seafood, out of 9. They are: Snow crab, sea urchin, salmon roe, scallop, squid, tuna, shrimp, surf clam, and salmon. I went for the sea urchin, snow crab, and scallop. So it was super good value for me. And since Hakodate is famous for their squid, a poor squid had to sacrifice its life to become sashimi for me to try. It costs JPY 1,400. It's so crunch fresh! Not sure why the reviews here are so bad. The bulk of the clients in the dining hall are local Japanese. There is also free wifi here. So I am glad we stumbled into this eatery!
