  I am currently working as an internal medicine physician in Chiba Prefecture, but a while ago this hospital approached me and said, ``If you don't mind, would you like to come to my place?'' So I visited this hospital in Hirata Village and spent two days there. We have covered the actual situation at Hirata Central Hospital, including its medical content, work environment, interaction with local people, and patient impressions and requests, in a very thorough and objective manner. First, regarding the level of medical care, it is by no means inferior to other regional core hospitals affiliated with universities in Tokyo, and in many areas this hospital is judged to be superior. . For inspection equipment, NBI endoscopes have been introduced. This gives me the impression that the accuracy of macroscopic diagnosis using an endoscopic observation monitor is quite high. I was also impressed by the 16-row multi-slice CT system, which has sufficient performance for diagnosis at a regular general hospital. 16 rows means that one CT device has 16 areas to collect data, so compared to the commonly seen 4 rows or 8 rows, the examination time is shorter and the amount of radiation exposure is reduced accordingly. This means that there are benefits for both patients and medical professionals, as the effects of breathing and body movements are significantly reduced because the time taken is short. Of course, ultrasound testing equipment was also available. That's all about the inspection machine. The second thing that impressed me was the breadth of the medical treatment area that this hospital can cover. When I learned that it included not only Ishikawa County, which is made up of Hirata Village and neighboring districts, but also Koriyama City and Iwaki City, I honestly felt it was a big deal. Abukumichi? However, the use of this technology was considered to be one of the factors that enabled a wide range of medical treatment. It may be different now, but I remember that the scale of the hospital was less than 200 beds. Considering its size, we found out that it plays a fairly large role in medical institutions in Fukushima Prefecture. As for the staff, they were all very kind, willingly answering my questions in detail, and preparing accurate materials for specific questions, so I never exaggerated or underestimated them. I was able to understand the actual situation rather than guessing. I was very impressed by how homely they were in dealing with patients, without feeling harsh at all. During my stay, I noticed that there were a lot of emergency calls. Even in such a case, we contacted each department assuming that they would be able to accept it, and quickly prepared to accept it. We are unable to accept emergency requests for patients who require highly advanced and intensive treatment, and in cases where medical treatment is completely unprofessional, and we regret that we are unable to do so. At the time of my visit to the hospital, I was getting married to my fiance in a few months, so unfortunately I had given up on working at Hirata Central Hospital, but I still occasionally visit the hospital and its staff. No medical institution is ever perfect, but at least this hospital is one in which all of its staff, while proud, are not self-centered, listen carefully to the hopes and needs of the local people, and strive to do what is possible. I believe that this is a good hospital run by such fine people who are always working to respond to such needs to the limit.
