::The worst service ever. When your activities and plans get ruined by typhoon, you’re unable to go to Aka island, and you’re forced to make last-minute changes of your entire vacation, wait for it because they will make it an even miserable experience by charging you 50%~100% of canceling fee. They’re untouched by your conditions and struggle after hours of negotiation over phone call. When the boats are suspended from Naha to Aka they say “it was working yesterday and will be tomorrow”, ignoring how a traveler is suffering from the risk of losing boats or missing one’s flight, in their logic if you book for these days you’re supposed to appear no matter what. They said to me “there’s typhoon and it’s a pity all your diving activities were canceled, you won’t be able to swim either, but look the weather isn’t so bad in the end and you could have at least enjoyed the view.” When we escalated this case to the tourist center of Aka we were told the Hanamura Inn is too big a business for them to intervene. I don’t know how big this business is, but if it’s running by charging bloody canceling fee to innocent travelers from all over the world for the world’s class diving spot, what a shame is it. Leaving bad taste for all of us without even being able to step on the island yet.

::We booked a room here but the ferry was cancelled that day and we weren’t able to make it. Our reservation did not include free cancellation and they could have kept our money, but they allowed us to cancel and gave a full refund. They communicated well. Thank you so much!

::Coming from America, this place felt very much like camping out in a room. For anyone truly here for the snorkeling and diving, that’s probably fine. For a couple of senior citizens from Ohio this type of hotel was an adjustment. In its favor, we dealt with a very pleasant manager. She was kindness itself to the degree that she could be. The whole place was so clean; she scrubbed and disinfected daily in a way American hotels could take lessons from. We are not accustomed to communal bathrooms with public sinks, but the cleanliness of those facilities was never a problem.

::Nice place, nice owners. But I have a major issue with the price of using the snorkels 1000円?! Those things cost like 3000円 to buy MAX and they have probably been reused easily over 100 times. Turning 3000円 into 10万円 is something warren buffet would struggle to do, but the owners have managed it. Also having to leave money for a little sachet of coffee in the morning is a bit hmmm 🥱🥱 めんどくさい . Other than that nice place

::I came to visit Aka Island and the people of this village. This bed and breakfast was one of the best times I have had on vacation. The facilities and the overall atmosphere was the best! Breakfast and dinner was well above what I expected; pleasing to the eyes traditional Japanese menu with a dash of world wide variety. If this very pleasing couple would open a cafe' the food would be the best! I love the team work and spirit of this couple. Warm and pleasant and full of information! There will be a return visit to this Inn by this customer.
