  This was the best hotel we've ever stayed in hands-down! For starters, it's the perfect blend of a Japanese-style Ryokan and a more western design hotel. The building is old, but the interiors have been partially renovated and have a timeless feel to them. We got one of their renovated rooms on the lowest floor. It was redone by a local interior designer in an earthy, minimalist style and was such a special place. Outdoor private onsen, gorgeous bathroom and a view to die for. You'll hear constant flow of water, either from your Onsen, or the river right below your balcony. The food was also amazing - breakfasts and dinners all included, with dinner being a full 8 course Japanese kaiseki experience. (After a couple of days, we did wish there were some simpler menu options, but the food was all beautifully prepared and excellent) If you want zen, relaxation, and to be thoroughly pampered, this is the place to be. Totally worth the $$$. Would love to come back again.

  We booked a night here last minute and it was one of my favorite 24 hours of my entire trip to Japan. It was relaxing and felt so serene. I will definitely be coming back. My husband and I did the couples massage in the room and I almost fell asleep it was so good. The upper rooftop onsen that is open air was my favorite. It started snowing when I was up there and I had the entire place to myself. It felt like I was in a fairytale. Truly amazing experience, we will be back!!

  Really nice Japanese style hotel with friendly staffs and wonderful river view right from hotel room. Meals were made from local seafood and veggies, delicate and delicious cuisine with excellent service. The interior is full of taste and specially-made of “Washi” A must-try in Kaga onsen area.

  From the moment we arrived to our departure, we were treated with the utmost respect and it made our stay that much more enjoyable. Our host/staff member Mayumi took great care of us! Definitely an experience to remember.

  This was an awesome experiance. I have never been to an onsen before, so I was a bit nervous. The staff here are extremely nice. They cannot speak full English, but they can speak some and honestly we got on fine with Google translate. I will say if you are not used to very very hot water, then take it slow the first time. As a Floridian, I cannot stand the heat so it was a bit much but I still enjoyed the experience. The town is amazing as well. They have a really nice walking tour you can go on, and see some amazing shrines, nature, and other hot springs. Staying here really made my first experience to Japan amazing. I highly recommend if you want to try an onsen for yourself.
