::Traditional Japanese hotel right on the waterfront in Beppu. You can tell from the outside that the building is older. From the inside, however, it looks well-kept. I booked a Japanese-style room. It had a wonderful view of the sea and was big enough. There is also an onsen on the top floor of the hotel with a view of the sea. Breakfast is not offered as a buffet, but all guests are served a ready-made menu. The team was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the room was very expensive during my stay. More than 200 dollars per night is too much.

::The most disappointing part of stay was the service level. It is not the language topic but their willingness to help. The day I was checking out with 3 big luggage to manage in a small lift - not until my head was hit by the lift door 3 times they decided to press the button holding the lift door for me. They also did not bother to hold the front door for me with all these luggage. Overall not a pleasant stay.

::Booked the room on their website so that we can have this room on their top floor. The room was absolutely amazing! The view, the bath, the tatami and even the bed were all great. We had a lovely time just chill in our room and watching the ocean and the people outside by the park. We did not opt to do dinner at the restaurant as there are so many izayakas we wanted to try but breakfast was not bad.

::This is a nice, old-style onsen hotel right at the ocean in Beppu. We didn‘t have any expectations, but booked the hotel because of its good location. The hotel features a variety of tatami mat rooms, all with futons. The futons were thin but surprisingly comfortable. The pillows are classic Japanese pillows with one harder side and one softer side. In the reception area you can pick your yukata for the evening, as well as any amenities you might need (shaver, hair brush, and so on). The rooms are spacious and clean. Our room featured a private onsen tub, with a view of the ocean. There also is a public onsen at the top floor of the hotel, and two private family-size onsen with ocean views on the floor below. We tried all three options - the hottest water was in the public onsen on the seventh floor. The private family onsen was also very nice. There are drink machines on the third floor where you can buy a wide variety of drinks. The hotel rooms all have fridges to keep food and drinks cold. If you book a day in advance you can enjoy a very tasty kaiseki dinner in the hotel. We did and it was excellent. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, and their English skills are very good. The hotel is located right at the beach, close to a wide range of restaurants and also close to a couple of shopping malls. This hotel exceeded our expectations, and for this type of hotel we give it the highest rating. Note that it is an older, classic Japanese hotel, and should compared with such.

::We had a lovely experience. Our room had a view of the ocean, beautiful for the sunrise/sunset. Our room was surprisingly large & spacious. The room had a water cooler for instant hot or cold water. It also had a shoehorn that we enjoyed more than we thought we would. The staff is very kind & helpful. They had great yukata options in the lobby area. Great location with a 7eleven nearby. The public Onsen is a big highlight. We went everyday and became a big fan of the outdoor Onsen. Highly recommend!
