::checked into hachimantai heights ryokan on 31.10.2023 nice room, big ryokan, big nice onsen, oh lobby, free coffee and ice oolong tea, soft drinks, a pretty back terrace among the best kaiseki I had @ hachimantai heights ryokan highlights include- >wagyu kaminabe shabu shabu >wagyu sushi >steamed snow crab legs >abalone and lobster sashimi kaminabe was best, superb😋 lobster sashimi super sweet👍🏻, awabi sashimi as always tough & bland snow crab legs very sweet👍🏻just too small to have impact likewise wagyu sushi needed a bit oomph like top with uni haha 😆 tempura was good too appetizer zensai all ok clam soup good ok kamameshi good ok even soba not bad but not sure why gohan needs soba to supplement kamameshi 🤷♂️ cheese cake what say? ok la 😃 ===== after kaiseki dinner we walked out to the back terrace are from the hotel lobby very interesting cloud formation illuminated by the moon ===== buffet breakfast good standard both quality & spread of dishes only hotel jogakura breakfast better 😎

::Stayed there on 25-27th Dec, good nice place, great food, had private onsen as well, I had outdoor bath as well in the room which great view, however it was surprising that there was no shower in the room, so only in room bath facility was through outdoor bath. They also had discount arrangements with nearest ski resort, and free sledges to borrow

::The reception is very friendly and polite. The onsen was very nice. Dinner and breakfast was amazing, really delicious and many dishes. View around the hotel is fantastic surrounding by beautiful nature.

::Very nice hotel, the staff is really friendly and helpful. The food was great, although the morning's buffet could have a little bit more to offer. The onsen was nice, one inside bath and one rotenburo. The room seemed a little bit old, but it was okay. The private bath on the balcony was great and had a nice view on the mountain.
