::First time in Kyoto, we were hungry and pass by this restaurant. It was full so we decided to wait to see the hype ! Worth waiting, food is just heaven ! Very foreigner friendly !

::Chanced upon this place when the family arrived in Kyoto late in the evening and generally places close around 9.00pm or even 8.00pm for some. Their last order is at 10.00pm, and closes at 10.30pm so if you want a late dinner this is a very decent place. Seems like a chain but the place is packed with locals and very few foreigners which is generally an excellent sign that the quality of food even if its not mindblowing it will still be of standard; which it was and let's just say all the food you see in the photos there was literally nothing left when we were done with them. Would recommend their fried rice, ramen and their "thick-sauce" rice, on top of the wild vegetables stir-fry and mapo tofu. Gyoza do go for their strong garlic option; the other two types their flavours are oddly similar so unless you have a big party that can share, go for the garlicy ones. To queue, enter the store and write your name down plus the number of pax and they will call out your name when its your turn. It may be daunting for the first-timers but just have one pax inside with his/her ears peeled with the rest outside to not clog up thr area and all will be good :)

::Great stop for lunch or dinner if you have not made a reservation at a restaurant. Can recommend the Gyoza & Ramen. Walk in and put your name and number in your group down and they will call you when ready. You can guage how long the wait will be by the amount of names ahead of you. Attentive and fast service. Can order easily online with english.

::Great dumpling and fried rice! Came at around 9.30pm and waiting time was about 10 mins Recommended and must try for anyone love gyoza!

::This restaurant was a short walk from my hostel and looked packed with locals. The prices here are also pretty afforsable. I got a fried rice set meal (¥985) which consists of 6 pieces of gyoza, 2 pieces of karaage, soup and fried rice. The gyoza was pretty tasty but I figured it could do with a side of chilli sauce which the restaurant did not have. The karaage on the other hand was pretty tough and not as enjoyable to eat. The soup was delicious and not salty at all. The fried rice was packed with small pieces of pork and was pretty substantial. One can easily walk out feeling very full with just one set meal.
