::Undoubtedly one of the best Izakaya in Hadokate Ekimae. The 1 1/2 hr wait in the queue was absolutely worthwhile. Although there are many tables, they do not fill them all at once to ensure the kitchen can provide food at a manageable pace for the number of people inside. They have a much larger choice of sashimi, donburi and grilled meals - far wider choice than the morning markets but Gyosanko is only open for dinner service. Sake drinkers need to select from the Japanese sake menu. The waiters will give their recommendations of locally produced sake.

::We had a very good dinner here. The seafood were fresh and the price was reasonable. We came every evening for the first 2 evening when we were at Hakodate but they were fully booked. They do not take reservation. On the third evening, we came at 4:30pm and waited for the restuarant to open and we finally managed to get a table. We ordered a lot of food as you can see from the pictures attached. They were very yummy and reasonably priced . For 4 adults, we spent about ¥16500 with 2 bottles of alcohol free Asahi beer. Highly recommended !

::Foreigners friendly. English menu with picture available. English speaker waiter and waitress serving. Everyone was so nice. The food was good. The chef physically brings you the live squid before prepping for the sashimi. Overall nice experience. Thank you.

::Worth for 5 stars review! The seafood is super fresh and tasty!!! The price are reasonable! If you ordering live squid and crab, they will show you before made it. Definitely recommended !!!

::I think I had the best seafood at this restaurant during my past trip. They have an English menu and English speaking staff, so communication wasn’t a problem. I ordered many grilled dishes. The ingredients were fresh and food was tasty. I enjoyed it!
