  There is a Hansen's disease museum inside the park. Those suffering from Hansen's disease who were ``compulsorily imprisoned'' were forbidden to go outside the park, and doing so was considered ``escaping,'' and they had to stay in this building for three months as punishment. I felt so sad. However, considering that Hansen's disease was not yet understood at that time and there were quite a few people suffering from it, I guess I had no choice but to think that it was a ``really scary disease.''
