::I stayed here two nights and it's a very convenient base for exploring Onomichi and biking the Shimanami Kaido. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating despite my limited Japanese. They helped me in luggage forwarding for the Shimanami Kaido and the laundry mechanics. The hotel is in a prime location, right by the water, JR station, is practically the takeoff point for the Shimanami Kaido, the shopping street with bars and restaurants, and temple walk. I walked everywhere with this as my base. The rooms were clean with an eighties and nineties feel due to its trims - which I personally love. Little touches like providing the Onomichi lemon jelly and lemon drink mix were fitting since it's what the region is known for - I enjoyed my stay from the moment I checked in due to this welcoming gesture and gift. Thanks for making my stay a memorable one in Onomichi! The town and Shimanami Kaido were the highlights of my trip!

::I chose to stay at Green Hill Hotel Onomichi due to its excellent location and quality service. The hotel is conveniently situated just a 5-minute walk from Onomichi station. Even when I arrived before check-in time, the staff kindly assisted me in storing my luggage, allowing me to explore the Onomichi area unencumbered. They also provided helpful recommendations for local restaurants. The room itself was clean and spacious, providing ample space to unpack and organize my belongings. Overall, for travelers interested in exploring the Onomichi area, Green Hill Hotel Onomichi is a highly recommended choice.

::The rooms don’t have AC, only fan and heat mode, it was very hot in the room day and night. The bathroom sink was dirty, grimy. The breakfast foods were either bland (scrambled eggs), or too salty (steamed salmon), or too sweet (hijiki salad). The doors on the room closet were falling off, not closing properly and had smudged paint around the handles. Luckily we only stayed here one night. The cleaning person tried entering the room before the check-out time. They started then calling the room phone about the checkout right as we were putting our shoes on. A very unpleasant experience overall

::We really enjoyed our stay here, it is extremely convenient if you are thinking about doing the Shimanami Kaido bike path when starting in the Onomichi side. The facilities were clean and spacious for the price. The WiFi was very good (which is a relief because it has been spotty in other locations). As a bonus there is plenty of well thought out charging ports and cords provided for you.

::The room is small, but hey, it's Japan. Best hotel breakfast ever. Best hotel shower ever. Not only are they typically excessively polite and accommodating in every Japanese way; it's like their clairvoyant and are able to predict our every need in advance. Fabulous!
