::Very clean, great free weights. Machines are old but well maintained. Mens locker room is small and gets very cramped with only a few people

::One of the oldest Gold’s Gyms in Tokyo. Very decent crowd, nowhere nearly as white-washed as the Harajuku ones are. The cardio kickboxing training by Tozawa is an absolute shredder!!

::I was quite excited to finally join a real gym in Tokyo. During signup, the staff provided the me the necessary paperwork and terms and then mentioned that I could pay monthly from my bank account. When I returned the next day with my details, the staff mentioned that I forgot to fill out a page on the application. I saw this was a credit card application for a JACCS card. I said "no thank you, I have enough credit cards. If you need a card for the application, here's one of mine". The staff at the counter declined and responded to me that "you must order a credit card from Gold's Gym. If you do not, then you cannot have convenience of paying monthly and must pay 1 year in advance to join". Again, I said "no thanks". Sadly I will not be returning to do business here due to their questionable terms and business practices.

::Called ahead to make sure tattoos were okay. Was mid workout in a t-shirt, part of my arm band tattoo popped out of my sleeve. The staff swarmed me and forced me to leave as they have a no tattoo policy even though we called ahead to ask. They wouldnt allow me to simply pull my sleeve back down. Were not very accomodating about the situation. 2700 yen for a day pass. A stain on the Golds Gym brand. Even though I was being polite one of the female staff members was very aggressive and rude while refunding my money did not make me feel comfortable at all.

::Perfect for travelling. This gym is extremely well stocked with equipment, it has everything you need to train away from home - very friendly staff too. Most importantly, you can buy a two week pass with cash for a fair price. You will need to use 'indoor shoes'. These can be rented, but if you're going frequently it's cheaper to buy a basic pair from the nearby parade of shops.
