::Probably the biggest letdown in our Tokyo experience. For a themed bar, it's just so average. They have a few guns on the walls, and are screening an epiosde of US reality show Cheaters, and they offer a menu of things like fingerprinting etc, which are only available if the bar isn't too busy. They have a table charge of 1,000¥, plus you are expected to order food, none of which looked delish. The whole place is incredibly cheesy and cheap. I'd go as far as to say it's creepy. We read online that the staff spoke english as well, and part of the appeal was to chat to a detective about local investigations and their work, but their English was poor to non-existent, so if you dont speak Japanese it's not for you. If you're not already in Ikebukuro, it's definitely not worth making the trek there. But if you are there, the cocktail was merely okay. Considering the non negotiable table charge and not-listed taxes, it was 3,780¥ for two cocktails. And they were kind enough to not force us to order the food, even though the menu was aggressively clear that all people should have one dish. 1,000¥ for bar nuts. Hmm.

::2016年頃、ネットで炎上したお店です。 内容としては、もともとプログレスにて注文ができる「オーダーカクテル」というメニューに関して、探偵ものとして人気の作品「名探偵コナン」における登場キャラクターの性的な内容を想起させるカクテルを提供→それをお客さんがTwitter等SNSに投稿し炎上、というものです。 現在は該当ツイートは削除されていますが、Twitterで「探偵カフェ 炎上」等で検索して頂ければ、当時疑問を抱かれていた方などのツイートは見ていただけるかと思います。 もともと探偵さんが経営しているカフェということもあり、お客さんへのサービスのつもりでキャラクターのイメージカクテルを出していたようです。しかし人気に伴いお店側、お客さんともに悪ノリをし続けてしまい、一般のファンが不快になるような内容のカクテルを不特定多数に公開するSNSに投稿してしまったこと、また二次創作と同じように「グレーゾーン」であるべきイメージカクテル(お金を取っているため当然利益は生まれますが、プログレスさんは出版社に許可を取っているわけでは御座いません。)をお店側が公に宣伝したこと、それを指摘されても対応が著しく遅かったことなどから炎上に至りました。 今ではだいぶ落ち着いており、お店も普通に営業しています。 人気が増して大勢で騒げるようになるときほど、自分や周囲の行いには気を使わなければいけませんね。

::2回ほど行きましたが、スタッフさんも全員違ったし、2回目は女性のお客さんがほとんどでした。探偵レポートファイル？なども見せてもらえるので、おもしろいですよ。
