::Nice big traditional Japanese room with great ambience. The only downer is the very small toilet. The bath tub is rather dangerously placed. The user can have a bathroom accident. Better to remove that small useless tub and only keep a shower. The traditional bath /onsen is excellent, however. I enjoyed using it. Recommend.

::Traditional Japanese-style rooms and a private Onsen on the ground floor, overall a great experience. Location is a bit outside the "center", an uphill 15 minute walk from the station.

::The room was very spacious and really nice, traditional Japanese style. I loved that the heating was working really well, it is not so obvious in Japanese hotels. This one was perfect. We could order food from the bar to the room without any additional charge. Food was fresh and nice, also cheap *500-1000 yen per dish. I loved all the games downstairs. Onsen was amazing too, the water was really hot though.

::A very quirky and unique place. We stayed overnight to catch the snow monkeys. The host was kind to drive us all the way there. We might have been off peak as there was barely anyone in the hotel but that gave it its quirk. The rooms are very spacious and clean. They are the one of the only places left whose onsen comes directly from the hot springs as supposed to being electrically heated up.

::Good value for the price! The owner left me a note on the door as I arrived quite late, literally just to sleep, wake up early and leave. He told us here were no female guests on the hotel so let us use the female onsen privately which was a very nice gesture. He gave us a room bigger that the one we've booked, which was a tatami + normal room. I would give it 5 stars but the hotel is quite worn out and needs refurbishment. I guess that reflects on the low price, but happy to give feedback because it's very visible.
