::First time here - tried the yakitori don (grilled chicken on rice). Taste was excellent - sauce was especially tasty. Good balance of sweet and savory. Rest of the dishes were good too. Worth a try if you're in town!

::We got the unagi and yakitori bowls. The unagi bowl was decent but pretty standard. The yakitori bowl was amazing value and delicious.

::One of my favorite restaurants in Nozawaonsen. They do not take reservations and I recommend coming early during the lunch period. It is not guaranteed that they will be open during the evening hours. I had the 大盛り焼き鳥丼 Large Yakitori donburi. It seems to be there most popular dish but the unagi also looks amazing. Such amazing quality and preparation. The building and environment are also amazing!

::Atarashiya has to be one of my favourite restaurants here in Nozawa Onsen. I have been coming to Nozawa for over 8 years now and ever since my family and I have discovered this restaurant, we have come here every trip! The food is so delicious and I can't wait to go back! Definitely recommend trying this if you are on the hunt for a delicious meal!
